Big Breakfast Charity Success

28 Mar 2011 - 3:27pm

The Big Breakfast Charity event attracted 250 guests to the Sam Jacobs Room, Freemasons Hall on Sunday 27th March 2011. The Breakfast raised in excess of $5,000.00 towards the training of Royal Society for the Blind GuideDogs. Special guest was EVA, a 12 week old Labrador-in-training. Sales of miscellaneous Royal Society for the Blind merchandise, including cuddly soft toys, certainly added to the success of the morning and  proceeds from these sales would have certainly boosted the amount above.

A cooked breakfast, catered by Homestead Catering, Champagne, Orange Juice and a piece of Assistant Grand Master Peter Symons 'surprise' birthday cake added to the fare. Music was provided by the Lodge Thespian "All Stars" Big Band, Pete Neal as MC kept things ticking along and games included a "Crows vs Power" football kicking competition for the ladies.

The morning was rounded off with an auction of a fine quilt, indigenous paintings and fine wines, conducted by very exuberant auctioneers  John Stone and Brett McMutrie.

Thanks are extended to Paula Clark, Sonja Parsons and Judi Symons and all the helpers who made this event such an outstanding event.
