Local Aged Care Residents To  Benefit from Freemasons Gift.

North Eastern aged care facility, Ridgehaven Lodge, was recently given a Pulse Oximeter, a valuable aid to their ongoing care for Senior Australians. A pulse oximeter is a particularly convenient, non-invasive measurement instrument used in assessing a persons need for oxygen. Increasingly used by GP’s and other health care professionals, it provides a quick and simple reference to oxygen levels in the body.

The new piece of equipment donated by members of Lodge St David, will prove very useful for those residents with seasonal conditions, returning from a hospital visit or simply requiring special attention in recovery from an illness. Visiting GP’s or appropriate staff will be able to use this very portable device which is not much bigger than an MP3 player, with a finger tip sensor in place of the headphones!

An example of their motto “Freemasons Caring in the Community”, the donation from Lodge St David members was warmly welcomed by Ridgehaven Lodge staff. The donation was an initiative from the family of Ridgehaven Lodge resident Mrs Laurice Rogers, whose husband Reg was a Past Master of Lodge St David.
