Bon Accord Sovereign Chapter Conducts Ceremony of Perfection

On the 23rd November 2016, the Bon Accord Sovereign Chapter of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite for Australia conducted a Ceremony of Perfection.

On this occasion the Candidates for the evening were two experienced Freemasons, both being Mark Master Masons and Royal Arch Masons. Bro. Tom Munro of Edwardstown Lodge No. 168 and Bro, Alan McWhinney, Duke of Leinster Lodge No. 363 I.C. made a further advancement in their Masonic journey, applying to the Rose Croix to achieve these  goals. Both Brethren were elevated to the 18th Degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite “Rose Croix” in a moving Double Perfection Ceremony,  which was well attended by members of the Bon Accord Sovereign Chapter.

The Chapter had the pleasure of receiving the District Commander V\Ill\Bro. Allan C. Wells 33° and the District Recorder Em\ Bro. William McBride 30°, South Australia Flinders District.

At the end of the Ceremony, the District Commander V\Ill\Bro. Allan C. Wells 33°, presented Excellent and Perfect Bro. Adrian Antonis to the East and congratulated him and V\Ill\Bro. Fred Pearmain 33° KCoM proceeded to present him with his 18th Degree Certificate which was followed by a Lecture.

The Brethren then retired to the Refectory for the usual Masonic toasts to welcome two new Excellent and Perfect Princes into the Chapter.  Excellent and Perfect Bro. Gary Joerin 18th Degree, proposed a toast to the new Brethren and both responded thanking the members of the Chapter for accepting them and making the evening an interesting experience.

The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite for Australia is gaining a lot of interest in recent months with the Bon Accord Rose Croix Chapter gaining five new members during 2016 -  with another Perfection planned for March 2017.  It is the largest body of Freemasons in the world working under a single founding document, The Grand Constitutions of 1786. In membership, the Rite is second only to Craft Freemasonry and is also known as Rose Croix Freemasonry (18th Degree).

It is the only Masonic Order that provides an opportunity for the advancement to the 33rd Degree.

To become a member of the Rite one must be a Master Mason in good standing of a Craft Lodge owing allegiance to an Australian Grand Lodge or a Grand Lodge in amity with an Australian Grand Lodge.
