David was initiated into Lewis Lodge of Hope in Port Adelaide on the 26th September 1962, Passed 26th March 1963, and Raised 25th March 1964. In 1964, David sought a Clearance to join Hyde Park.

Closure of Village of Instruction
It is with regret that the you are hereby informed that the Village Lodge of Instruction has made a decision to formally close. After many years of faithful members serving the Village, the numbers had declined.

Edwardstown Lodge No. 168 - Initiate from a Long Lineage in Freemasonry
Timothy Jones, a Lewis, was initiated at the 23rd Fewbruary 2018 meeting of Edwardstown Lodge No. 168. Timothy comes from a family with a long lineage in Freemasonry.

At a combined meeting of The Adelaide Lodge and Semaphore Lodge on Tuesday 21st November 2017, RWBro. David Crawford, PAGM, presented WBro. Donald W. C. Macaulay with his Fifty Year Service Jewel. WBro. Macaulay was Initiated in Mannum Lodge No. 97 in November 1967.

Much is reported in the media about domestic violence and the consequent abuse and the resulting distress of women and their children. Members of a Craft Lodge and a Conclave of the Order of the Secret Monitor fully supported assisting in some way to ease the pain and suffering.

Gawler Mark Emergency Meeting
Gawler Mark Lodge No.14 was blessed with the proposition of a double Advancement for their September 2017 meeting but at the suggestion of RWBro. Bill Penley SGW, the Gawler Mark No. 14 brethren split the ceremony and held an emergency meeting on 6th October 2017 at the Ridgehaven Masonic Hall.

Hyde Park Bankers Lodge No 193 and Foodbank SA
Hyde Park Bankers Lodge No. 193 purchased sixty five Christmas Hampers from Foodbank SA for Christmas 2017. The Lodge supported two Eastern Suburbs charities from the Master's Charity Funds raised in 2015- 2016 and 2016-2017.

On 20th November 2017, at the St. Francis Winery, Reynella, the members of Lodge Reynell No. 243 were delighted to be able to initiate their first Lewis of one of its own members into the Lodge.

A happy band of Supreme Grand Chapter Officers from Adelaide and Naracoorte flew to Darwin for the Installation of the Excellent Principals and Officers of the Larrakeyah Royal Arch Chapter No. 40 which was held at Parap, Darwin on Sunday 22nd October 2017.

At the Meeting of the Mid North Lodge No 12 on Thursday 10th May, 2018, WBro. Grant Hovey DC, gave a lecture on the early history of some of the Mid North Lodges including St. Johns No. 17 at Auburn and St. James No. 23 at Saddleworth.

South Australia's History Festival 2018
On the weekend of Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May 2018, Grand Lodge Building (Freemasons Hall) will open its doors to the public and run guided tours of around 10 -20 people per group each day at 10:00am and 2:00pm as part of The History Festival.

The Annual Combined Meeting, shared between three Lodges of the Northern Territory was held this year on Saturday 24th February 2018.

Bro. Dominik Stankiewicz was Initiated, joining both his father WBro. Marcin Stankiewicz and his grandfather, Bro. Mirek Stankiewicz as the third generation of the family to become a member of the Lodge.

WBro. Barry Newman honoured with First Bar to 50 Year Jewel in Mark Masonry
WBro. Barry Newman was Advanced into Mark Masonry on 4th June 1963. In July 2013, he was presented with his 50 Year Jewel by Brethren of Salisbury Mark Lodge No. 52 who made the journey to the Riverland to make the presentation.

Whyalla Mark Lodge No. 37 - Jewel Presentation
Whyalla Mark Lodge No. 37 marked well at their March 2018 regular meeting with several milestone presentations. Firstly a Fifty Year Jewel was presented to RWBro. On Saturday 4th August 2018 senior Brethren of Region 5 [SA and NT] of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite for Australia gathered at the Marden Masonic Centre for the working of the Higher Degrees of the Rite.
