Prostate Cancer Research Centre

10 May 2018 - 5:29pm

RWBro Dario Priori, PSGW, VWBro. Ray Nicholson, OS, Mr Norman Thomson, and their wives, are a small group that periodically attend meetings at the Prostate Cancer Research Group at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI).  Here they meet with researchers who provide information on progress with a number of medical research projects which aim to improve treatment options for men with prostate cancer.

As lay people involved with specialist researchers, the group is able to provide experiences of living with cancer both from the ‘patient’ and carer views and assist with communications to non-medical people.

There are many exciting developments occurring and this work is being recognised by grants from several research funding bodies as well as co-funding by the Freemasons Foundation Centre for Men’s Health and the University of Adelaide.
